Mehrbach Pictorial History
1970 - 1973
In 1970, during the summer between his junior and senior years in college, Carl Mehrbach purchased acrylic paints, picked up a brush, made his first painting. At the time he was a Chemistry Major at the University of Notre Dame. In 1971 Mehrbach matriculated to Oregon State University, began graduate studies in Chemical Oceanography, was offered a PhD if completed his research. He decided to go to New York City to study Art, accepting a Masters in Science from Oregon State University.
